About Utrecht Underground

The tour

The Tour takes around 1,5 hour and starts in front of the tourist office (VVV) at the Domplaza (Domplein).
Reservations can be made by email or telephone. We don't use regular starting times. You tell us your wishes, then we try to arrange them. For now the tour can be experienced in Dutch and English language only. When a big group books a tour we divide this group in smaller groups that count around 10 participants

Utrecht used to be crowded with drug addicts who gathered together in distribution tunnels and old monastery gardens. In the last years things changed a lot in a positive way. Utrecht, Holland is the pioneer in the world when it comes to zero tolerance policy in cooperation with re-integration and social participation. This methode turned out in living facilities that gave homeless and drug addicts a place to stay other than on the streets. Our tourguides experienced those big changes and can tell you everything about it.

The Stadsbrug (The Citybridge)

The Stadsbrug is a non-profit businesscentre that creates employment and services for people that encounter problems in "regular" society. The Stadsbrug is focussed on re-integration by social-participation. Utrecht Underground is one of the many projects developed by The Stadsbrug. The Stadsbrug is directed by Altrecht Talent which encourage different organisations in Utrecht to offer their services as a succesfull collaborating business centre.
